Male Sterilization

Male sterilization involves removing a small segment of the vas deferens, the tube that sperm pass from the testis to the male urethra during ejaculation. I do not perform vasectomies but do advise couples considering sterilization that a vasectomy is a better choice than a tubal ligation, as it does not require the woman to have an operation; it is performed by a brief procedure in a urologist’s office. When a couple chooses to use vasectomy I refer the husband to colleagues here in East Longmeadow or elsewhere.
